About Citehouse
Infrastructure for the agentic web's licensed retrieval layer.
Citehouse builds and operates a single MCP gateway over the rights-cleared standards corpora of engineering and scientific professional societies. We host the gateway. The society keeps the brand and the rights. Agents pay per call. Money settles back monthly.
Mission
Make licensed retrieval over engineering source-of-truth content the default for agent builders, and a paid channel for the societies that own that content. Three parties, three warranties, one contract pattern, no marketplace.
Why now
Three protocol launches in 30 days flipped the calculus. The x402 Foundation moved to the Linux Foundation with 22+ industry signatories. Stripe shipped Link Wallet for agents alongside the Agentic Commerce Suite. MCP became the default agent-tool exchange protocol across Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Perplexity, and Gemini.
The plumbing for paid agent retrieval is now production-grade. The defensible work is upstream of the rails: rights-cleared supply, citation-grade retrieval, and the white-label trust substrate that lets a professional society participate without building it themselves.
Brief history
Citehouse was founded in 2026 to close a gap that opened when AISC's Clark, NFPA's LiNK, ICC's AI Navigator, and ASCE's Eaves proved the use case — and revealed that the rest of the engineering society space could not, on its own, ship the same capability inside the twelve-month window the agent market demands.
Founder
Founder-operated, Delaware C-corp, bootstrapped through validation. Headcount grows after the second society contract. Citehouse will not raise venture capital before two paid society partners and ten paying builder customers; the bootstrapped path is the default and the venture path is the optional upgrade.
